Ranger Cannon Company

Before mowing the lawn today I managed to get the Ranger Cannon Company half track completed.  It had previously seen action in our Anzio try-out game but now it's been pin-washed, dry-brushed and fitted with its crew.

It's a Black Star models 75mm GMC M3 with the crew from Airfix and Matchbox.  The Airfix figure lying on one side is prefect for the job, matching nicely an illustration in the Vanguard title on Allied Tank Destroyers.

By the way, the Cannon Company was commanded by the excellently-named Captain Chuck Shundstrom!

"Pin washed"??? Or is that a spello for ink washed? :o)

...just realised that comes across very much as if I'm being "clever" - I'm not trying to be - I'm just interested in the technique as I'd not heard of it before.. :o)

Pin washing is the technique of doing a fine dark line around raised detail before dry brushing or other weathering.

In this case I used watered down GW Charadon Granite from their Foundation Paint range.

Rich :-)

Thanks Rich - I've not come across that method before but it's very effective... stored for future use!
